Make a Windsock
by Vicki from various sources

Here's what you need:

Streamers (three 10" strips per windsock)
Ribbon (10" per windsock)

What to do:

Decorate your papers using markers
Roll each paper into a cylinder and staple it
Attach the streamers to the bottom of the cylinder
Attach a ribbon to the top for hanging

On a windy day, hang the wind socks outside where you can observe them. Perhaps leave them up for several days, so you can see how the wind changes over time. Talk about the direction the wind is blowing and whether it is blowing hard or soft.
