First Book
First Book is a national nonprofit organization with a single mission: to give children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books. The primary goal of First Book is to work with existing literacy programs to distribute new books to children who, for economic reasons, have little or no access to books. Last year First Book distributed 4 million books to hundreds of thousands of children in more than 290 communities nationwide.

Youth Noise
YouthNOISE is a group of young people and adults working together to provide info and resources--via the Internet--that will spark youth action and voice. YouthNOISE is an initiative of Save the Children Federation, Inc., which is a nonpartisan, nonsectarian, nonprofit organization that has been working to improve the lives of the children and youth all over the world for over 65 years.

Hello Friend
The Hello Friend/Ennis William Cosby Foundation promotes public awareness of the gifts and needs of individuals with learning differences. It supports training for K-2 teachers to recognize children at risk for reading and learning difficulties, and how to teach them effectively. Formed in 1997 as a public, nonprofit organization by Drs. Bill and Camille Cosby, the foundation is dedicated to fulfilling the goals and dreams of their son, Ennis by creating fundamental changes–in services, attitudes, educational systems, families, and communities–in order to support children and unlock the gifts of creative accomplishments in learning that benefit all.

Reading Is Fundamental
Since its inception in 1966, RIF has grown into a national grass-roots network of more than 310,000 volunteers at 18,000 sites. Find out how RIF uses support from the U.S. Department of Education, corporations, nonprofit organizations, and countless individuals to place more than 200 million books in the hands and homes of children who need them most.

Schwab Learning
Our vision is to help kids with learning differences be successful in learning and life. In order to accomplish this, we'd like to be your guide through the LD journey.

Scholastic Inc., the global children’s publishing and media company’s corporate mission, which is supported through all of its divisions, is to instill the love of reading and learning for lifelong pleasure in all children. Recognizing that literacy is the cornerstone of a child’s intellectual, personal and cultural growth, Scholastic, for more than 80 years, has created quality products and services that educate, entertain and motivate children and are designed to help enlarge their understanding of the world around them.
