York City, the nonprofit College Fund was created in 1989 to raise
private support for scholarships, endowments and public awareness
for Native higher education. In 1999 alone, the Fund has raised more
than $33 million on behalf of the 30 tribal colleges it was founded
to support.

American Indian Graduate

The American Indian Higher Education Consortium
(AIHEC) is a uniqueand uniquely American Indianorganization.
It was founded in 1972 by the presidents of the nations first
six Tribal Colleges, as an informal collaboration among member colleges.
Today, AIHEC has grown to represent 34 colleges in the United States
and one Canadian institution. Unlike most professional associations,
it is governed jointly by each member institution.
